Synopsis[]
Bighearted Pluto helps Orville the bird learn to fly.
Storyline[]
The story begins with Orville, a baby bird, who is in his nest, and is left by his mother and siblings, who are already flying and forget about that one. Upon wishing to fly like his mother and brothers, Orville gets up on the nest, and jumps up and down. He jumps out of his nest, and desperately tries to fly, but ends up landing in Pluto's water dish, causing Pluto to wake up and see Orville nearly drowning. Pluto rescues Orville and returns him to his nest. Then Pluto falls in a funny way until he reaches his dog house.
A bit later, however, the little bird pushes the hay of his nest, and somehow, tries to fly again, until he falls again, and this time, lands on Pluto's nose, causing the dog to wake up and bark. In a very quick defensive reaction, Pluto doesn't realize that in the next moment the little bird is in his mouth again. After that, the little bird tries to fly, then ends up falling, and grabbing onto Pluto's nose. As he looks and sees Pluto, who blinks at him, Orville climbs up, and angrily glances at Pluto. When Pluto realizes that the bird can't fly, Orville angrily explains the truth that he can't fly, and sadly sheds a tear, which makes Pluto feel bad for him. When he feels very sorry for himself and the tiny creature, he is a good teacher to come up with a plan. Pluto is a smart and clever dog, and teaches the little bird how to fly... a mission which is successfully made in the end as Orville hangs onto his tail with Pluto running.
Suddenly, with a spring as a catapult, which is useful to help, Pluto puts Orville into the spring and pulls as hard as he can, just as Orville climbs out, runs to the back, and grabs his tail. The spring shoots Pluto and Orville into the air to send them flying. Pluto realizes that they're flying, and as he looks back at Orville, who is holding his tail, he barks at him to flap his wings. As Orville does so, he flies and lets Pluto's tail go. Pluto sails through the air and hits the tennis court and flies backward toward home. As he lands at his dog house, Pluto feels dizzy as the birds and Orville fly around home. And when they disappear, Orville lands on Pluto's nose, and is happy to be a good flying bird, thanks to Pluto's help for helping him to fly. Now they are both happy because of their mutual success.
