Peter Sadusky is a character in the National Treasure franchise. He is an FBI Special agent who is an antihero in both films, acting as both a senior law enforcement agent but also bending the rules of his office to help his friend, Benjamin Gates. His affinity for Freemason teachings and his own membership are shown at the end of the first film.

Peter Sadusky was put in charge to investigate theft of the Declaration of Independence, which led him to Benjamin Franklin Gates, who was after the Knights Templar and Freemason treasure. Being a Freemason himself, Sadusky was intrigued by Gates who gave up the Declaration and led him to the real mastermind behind the theft: Ian Howe.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets[]

Peter first appears in his office when two colleagues inform him that Ben gates made the Headlines. They tell the paper said that Ben's ancestor: Thomas Gates was said to be one of the conspirators behind the assassination of President Lincoln, but Sadusky grew suspicious of how Mitch Wilkinson ended up with a page of one of the missing pages of the Booth Diary. On another search for lost treasure, this time Lost City of Gold of Cíbola, Ben turns to Peter to help him find the President's Book of Secrets, which has the answers to every unknown question in American history. He shares with Ben what he knows, and later regrets it when he "kidnaps" the President of the United States in order to find the book. He goes after Ben for his arrest once again, but after the treasure is found, the President drops all charges.

National Treasure: Edge of History[]

In the streaming series, Peter has retired from the FBI. He is also revealed to have a family, and a son who died several years ago, which left him in deep depression. He became distant from his family, especially from his grandson, Liam Sadusky. At the start of the series, Peter has fallen ill with dementia. By chance, he meets Jess Valenzuela, who he inspires to go after a lost treasure that her father was searching for twenty-one years ago. Shortly after meeting Jess, Peter passes away under mysterious circumstances and leaves his assets to his grandson.

Later in "Point of No Return", Billie Pearce frames Jess for his murder using a forge recording of their talk. Then, it's later revealed in "A Meeting with Salazar", Sadusky was murdered by Agent Hendricks who is revealed to be Salazar. In "Treasure Protectors", Liam discovers a tape containing information about the next treasure.

Trivia[]

  • According to the National Treasure: Edge of History episode "Charlotte", Peter Sadusky was born on August 11, 1938.
  • On the DVD, there was a scene cut from the film where Sadusky confronts Ben on the rooftop of the Library of Congress.
  • Peter Sadusky is both friend and foe to Ben, Riley, and Abigal, sometimes he has to arrest Ben whenever he breaks the law, but later became friend because he's a member of the free masons and help arrest the real criminals.
