La Ratatouille is a bistro in Paris, France that appears at the very end of Disney•Pixar's 2007 animated feature film of the same name. It is jointly owned by Remy, Anton Ego, Colette Tatou, and Linguini.
Role in the film[]
After Anton Ego reviewed the restaurant, Gusteau's was shut down due to a rat infestation. Remy and Alfredo Linguini then used the profits to found La Ratatouille so the former could continue to pursue his passion in cooking. Remy is the head chef of the restaurant, while Colette Tatou serves as his sous-chef and Linguini as its waiter, with the two implied to still be in a relationship. Ego dines regularly at La Ratatouille and is an investor to the restaurant. The bistro also secretly has a section for rats in the ceiling of the restaurant. The bistro is shown to be wildly popular, so much so that customers are often seen waiting in long lines outside the door for a reservation.
Trivia[]
- The logo of the bistro is represented by Remy in his chef attire, which very subtly hints his appearance at the bistro.
- On Ratatouille: Food Frenzy for the Nintendo DS, a pixelized version of La Ratatouille's logo appears as the cartridge icon and flashes on the loading screen before a stage. The game itself also takes place at La Ratatouille after the events of the main film.
- The rat section of the restaurant was turned into the Bistrot Chez Rémy restaurant at Disneyland Paris.
