Amy Meredith Poehler is an American actress, voice actress, comedian, director, producer, and writer, who was best known for being a cast member on the NBC late-night sketch comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2009. She also starred as Leslie Knope in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation from 2009 to 2015, and voiced Snow White in DreamWorks' Shrek the Third, Eleanor in the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks film series, and Gretel in Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil. Additionally, she served as the creator of the Nickelodeon show The Mighty B!, as well as voicing its lead character Bessie Higgenbottom.
For Disney, she voiced Joy in the Disney/Pixar film Inside Out and its 2024 sequel Inside Out 2 and Homily in the US English dub version of Studio Ghibli's The Secret World of Arietty. She also played Ruth in the 1999 Touchstone Pictures film Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. She currently provides the voice of Duncan and Annie Harris in Duncanville, on which she also serves as an executive producer.
She is also a best friend of Tina Fey.
