Jacob Fisher founded DiscussingFilm in 2016 with the creative drive to lead the next generation of entertainment journalism. He has continuously pushed the brand to grow in the years since with his innovative reporting and online community engagement. As editor-in-chief, Jacob is also responsible for our exclusive news reports and takes extra care to verify all insider information. You can usually find him watching or talking about Wallace & Gromit or Star Wars in his free time.
Andrew J. Salazar

Andrew J. Salazar is the Los Angeles-based co-owner of DiscussingFilm. He does his most to keep the website and socials moving forward on a daily basis as its managing editor as well. Andrew has been involved in our group since 2017 and has since led the brand’s growing efforts at major conventions, film festivals, and other industry events. Coming from a Mexican background, he strives to make the online film community more inclusive and energetic with his position at DiscussingFilm.

Joe Aranda

Joe Aranda is the director of content at DiscussingFilm. He’s overseen creative production across all of our various social media platforms since 2019. Joe previously led brand partnerships at the University of Texas at San Antonio and has worked extensively in the field of content strategy. When he’s not acting as DiscussingFilm’s “Adobe Athlete” while developing new social media material, he’s either at the cinema, diving into new anime, or putting all of his faith in the San Antonio Spurs.

Based in Los Angeles, Ashley Felicia Wade has been a social media coordinator and writer for DiscussingFilm since 2019. Felicia considers herself a jack of all trades. She’s a writer, social media maven, stylist, podcaster, and above all film lover. With Mexican and Vietnamese roots, her passion for inclusivity can be felt in all of her work. When she’s not scrolling aimlessly, she’s either playing Dungeons and Dragons, hanging out at Disneyland, or crafting her next cosplay from scratch.

Hailing from Canada, Ari is an editor and writer for DiscussingFilm, specializing in comic books, anime, and manga. He has been a member of the team since the founding of the website in 2016. Along with his knowledge of comics history, Ariel is also interested in ancient mythology as well as various other types of myths, legends, and lore.
Yasmine “Yas” Kandil

Yasmine has been at DiscussingFilm since March 2019. She’s a writer on the team and mainly focuses on interviews with fantastic filmmakers as well as reviews on the latest releases. She’s currently a student at Bournemouth Film School in England specializing in directing, producing, and screenwriting. She loves everything to do with pop culture and awards season!
Nicolás Delgadillo

Nicolás Delgadillo started his writing career at DiscussingFilm in 2018, and he’s been a leading voice of reason in our group ever since. Based in North Carolina, he is consistently providing readers with his brand of compelling and often hilarious analysis as one of our three Senior Film Critics. Nicolás hopes his writing can inspire fellow moviegoers to widen their cinematic horizons, especially in animation and horror. He also firmly believes more movies should have metal soundtracks.

Writing for DiscussingFilm since 2020, Bean likes to cover her bases. Her interests range from watching movies and television to reading comics or novels to listening to musicals. With a background in engineering and a love for speculative fiction, she could be classified as a nerd but also has affections beyond the label. Unfortunately drawn to anything campy or unconventional, she tries not to let her affinity for the terrible color her work.

As an El Paso native with a Bachelor’s in Digital Media Production, his border city roots have greatly influenced his appreciation and desire for more Latino-led stories in the mainstream. Guy Dolbey is a London-based critic and screenwriter who’s been contributing to DiscussingFilm since 2020. Their focus lies in asking questions and really trying to understand a piece of art on its own terms, as well as what it means in context. Guy is drawn to cinematic stories that put character first, especially if those characters are thorny and unpleasant. They also have a real soft spot for sci-fi, but all that really matters is that something feels real.

James Preston Poole is a Houston-based writer who specializes in covering genre films for DiscussingFilm, while also screenwriting and working on film sets whenever he can. He believes that as long as there’s someone out there to champion a movie, then there’s no such thing as “objectively bad.” James holds a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas and owes everything to his friends, family, significant other Catherine, and their three-legged cat Trinity.
