A new location of one of metro Detroit’s favorite pizzerias just fired up the ovens. Farmington Hills favorite Tomatoes Apizza has officially expanded to a third location at 34200 Woodward Ave. in Birmingham next door to Papa Joe’s Gourmet Market and Catering.
The new 1,400-square-foot Birmingham outpost was designed by Ron Rea and offers carryout and delivery. Tomatoes Apizza is known for serving New Haven-style pizza — a thin-crust pizza that’s baked in a coal-fired oven.
Diners can expect options like a green pizza topped with mozzarella, garlic, and a generous spread of spinach and a white pizza with mozzarella, garlic, basil, and fresh tomato. There’s even a Naples Sampler that divides up the pie into four of Tomatoes Apizza’s most popular combinations. The restaurant also offers items like garlic bread, salad, and dessert bread filled with chocolate hazelnut spread.
The new location joins Tomatoes’ other restaurants full-service restaurants on 14 Mile and Halsted Road in Farmington.
Tomatoes Apizza is located at 34200 Woodward Ave.; open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
