Molly Abraham visits the elegant Café Cortina: Five stars is a rarity, but the romantic and refined Café Cortina earns every one of them, according to Abraham. "Elegant is a word that describes this romantic restaurant perfectly — and that even includes its patio seating, as meticulous as the dining rooms within the low-slung building surrounded by trees and gardens, including an impressive kitchen garden with rows of tall tomato plants, ruffly greens and brilliant green basil, all of which are destined to turn up on the plates." Jane Slaughter digs into Taste of China's thick menu: This Farmington Hills restaurant offers authentic Chinese cuisine from a 255 item-deep menu, the critic writes. "Since spending a semester in China in 2007, I've been seeking and re-seeking the electric. Taste of China's Lamb with Cumin (205) delivered: hot red pepper flakes made the cumin pop against the pungency of the tender lamb. Size mattered too — this was an enormous serving." [Metro Times]
