Got the munchies? Then you’re exactly the customer Cheba Hut is looking for in Denton. This marijuana-themed sub shop’s owner, Bhavik Bhakta, chose Denton because it “fits the expressive culture of Cheba Hut, with artwork, music festivals, and more,” a press release said. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s close to the University of North Texas.
It will have 30+ signature sub sandwiches on the menu, plus salads, Rice Krispie treats (of course), and a full-service bar. The shop opens on October 17.
Cheba Hut will be located at 1611 West Eagle Drive, Suite 109 in Denton.
Another new spot is opening in Mockingbird Station: The Finch. This raw grill and bar, conceived by Dallas-based Milkshake Concepts, will have a raw bar and boast a large patio. According to a press release, it will serve food all day and aims to be a destination for lunch, brunch, and happy hour. Chef Eric Freidline is working up a menu that includes crab dip with trout caviar, salmon and poached beet salad, Bombay chicken tikka pizza, and a Japanese A5 ribeye katsu sandwich. The opening is expected in mid-November.
The Finch will be at 5307 E Mockingbird Lane, Suite 150.
Andrew’s is bringing another pizza spot to the Dallas scene this fall. Andrew and Jennifer Albert, who previously had Picasso’s Pizza & Grill, will open in Plano, and yes, they are bringing “Dallas-style pizza” back. If you didn’t enjoy it at Picasso’s, that is a hand-rolled, thin-crust pizza you build yourself from 15+ combinations of ingredients.
Andrew’s will also serve Chicago, Detroit, New York, and tavern-style pizzas. According to a press release, dough and sauces will all be made in-house. There will also be a full bar, and the entire menu, including drinks, will be available for delivery.
Andrew’s pizza will be at 1401 Preston Rd. in Plano.
