Magazine of all things Southern and um, living Southern Living just released an epic listicle called "100 Best Bars in the South," which could prove quite handy for thirsty travelers.
Dallas made a pretty impressive showing with four watering holes on the list: The Windmill Lounge, The Standard Pour, Bar Smyth and The Cedars Social.
The latter two selections come as bittersweet news to cocktail wizard Michael Martensen and his band of loyal bartenders, all of whom parted ways with Smyth and Cedars a couple months ago following a dispute with owner Brian Williams. (Martensen has hinted at some big things he's got in the works, but no formal announcement yet.)
Other inclusions of note on the list are Qui and Midnight Cowboy in Austin, as well as Houston's Anvil and ridiculously-named-yet-awesome Captain Foxheart's Bad News Bar & Spirit Lodge.
