Critics On Boulevardier, Park Tavern, More

MORNING NEWS—Leslie Brenner hit Park Tavern, the new-ish gastropub at the Shops at Park Lane, and discovered tasty cheese- and gravy-topped tater tots, an "exemplary" burger and "plumply satisfying" chicken wings; she found chef Taylor McCreary to have a deft hand with seafood as well, citing a tasty special of almond-crusted kingklip eel.

OBSERVER—Just on the heels of Brenner's review last week, Scott Reitz checked out Boulevardier, and while he thought most of the starters enjoyable, he, like Brenner, found the charcuterie plate overwrought; a grilled quail dish, though, "is a masterpiece", as is the $14 burger, both of which he'd recommend over the disappointing, flabby-skinned chicken.

DFW.COM—Teresa Gubbins also reviewed Boulevardier and noted that the place is slammed on the weekends; perhaps the crowds are blame for inconsistencies like undercooked beignets and overcooked seafood in the bouillabaisse? The broth in the seafood soup is "impeccable", though, and the elegantly presented bone marrow is enough "decadent richness" for two to share.

FORT WORTH WEEKLY—Jimmy Fowler tried Momos & More, a new Nepalese spot near the UTA campus where college kids are coming for late-night meals of momos (that's Nepalese steamed dumplings) and meat or vegetable curries.

THE BLOGS: The Taco Trail found delicious housemade tortillas at Taco Pronto on Harry Hines; Collette's Dallas Mexican Food Reviews finds "good" $2 tacos and no tetanus (whew) at Rusty Taco; English barbecue enthusiast Gavin Cleaver took one last look at the State Fair's fried offerings.
