Data Science & AI
The Data Science & AI Science Interest Group (SIG) is an initiative of the College of Science to develop and sustain an active, cohesive data science research community, to facilitate information and knowledge exchange, and support the development of data science and artificial intelligence-focused research teams. The Data Science SIG is open to all UArizona-affiliated researchers, including graduate students working on or interested in the relevant research areas.
Data Science & AI SIG Steering Committee
The group is guided by a Steering Committee co-chaired by Ellen Riloff, Professor and Department Head, Department of Computer Science and Helen Zhang, Chair, Statistics and Data Science and Professor of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. We are fortunate to also welcome Ann Zabludoff, Professor of Astronomy, Thomas A. R. Purcell, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Jason Pacheco, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Andrew Bennett, Assistant Professor of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences.
The Steering Committee and Associate Dean for Research Daniel Apai meet regularly to coordinate the initial activities of the Data Science & AI SIG, and plan for and identify funding opportunities that are of interest to the research community.
Check this space for upcoming publications bulletins, information about funding opportunities, roundtable events, panels and proposal preparation meetings.
