With the likes of Notch Brewery, Far From the Tree, and Salem Beer Works already churning out fan-favorite beers and craft cider in Salem, there’s still plenty of room for the beer scene to grow on the North Shore, and one new brewery will do what it can to help out. East Regiment Brewing Company is in the process of building out a space at 30 Church St. in Salem, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, with a nod to a historical military organization in the area.
East Regiment has apparently been in the works for several years, with early photos on the brewery’s Facebook page indicating a founding date back in 2014 and a previous name of Massachusetts Bay Colony Brewers.
The future brewery will have a tasting room, outdoor seating, and basement brewing area in the Church Street building, which is also home to Nick’s Firehouse Coffee Shop. Salem’s zoning board has granted its approval for the brewery, which most recently shared details of its equipment installation on social media.
Importantly, East Regiment also has a brew dog: a small dachshund who’s done some supervising of the buildout (see below).
