Candidate Connection

Yahya Yuksel participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on May 25, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Yahya Yuksel's responses follow below.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1. Comprehensive campaign finance reform is the basis of all reforms needed in Congress. Without it reform Congress will continue to be broken.

2. Expanding access to, and reducing the cost of, healthcare for all Americans.
3. Expanding access to quality public education including free universal Pre-K, free 2 years post-secondary, and interest-free college loans along with expanded vocational training.[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

As a member of a new generation of political leadership I am passionate about building and maintaining important international relationships that allow us to secure more prosperity, equality, justice, and reduce the impact of carbon emissions. After taking an International Law degree from Tsinghua University in Beijing and working in business development in China I have a unique perspective on this important bilateral relationship. Being a Persian, Turkish-Kurdish American and can bring a new voice to US foreign policy in Congress.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Yahya Yuksel answered the following:

If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?

Yeah Yeah from "Sandlot"[3]
