Rhode Island Attorney General election, 2010
The Rhode Island Attorney General election of 2010 was held on November 2, 2010. Incumbent Patrick Lynch was barred by term limits from running for election. Democratic State Rep. Peter Kilmartin won the right to replace Lynch in an election that saw almost 30 percent of the vote go to third party candidates.

On November 2, 2010, Peter F. Kilmartin won election to the office of Rhode Island Attorney General. He defeated Erik B. Wallin (R), Christopher H. Little (MOD), Keven A. McKenna (I) and Robert E. Rainville (I) in the general election.

Brown University Poll
Researchers at the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Public Policy and American Institutions and the John Hazen White Public Opinion Laboratory at Brown University surveyed 565 registered voters (not likely voters) from across Rhode Island between September 27 and 29, 2010. The polling data shows that in the race for State Attorney General, Democrat Peter Kilmartin has a stable lead with 25.8% while his Republican opponent, Erik B. Wallin, has 13.5% support; combined, the three third-party candidates pulled in nearly twenty percent of those interviewed. About one-third of those surveyed still remain undecided as those who they intend to vote for with only four weeks left until the general election.
