Savage also ran for election to the Erie County Legislature to represent District 3 in New York. Savage did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on June 25, 2019.
Savage is a former Democratic District 3 member of the Erie County Legislature in New York. Savage filed to run for re-election in 2019, but withdrew from the race before the primary scheduled for June 25, 2019. Savage served from 2014 to 2019. Savage left the office when he was appointed to the Buffalo City Court.[1][2]

Erie County in New York held a general election for county officials on November 7, 2017. A primary election was held on September 12, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates in this election was July 13, 2017. All 11 county legislators were up for election, as well as the county clerk, sheriff, and comptroller.[3]
Incumbent Peter Savage III (Democratic/Independence/Women's Equality/Working Famillies) defeated Anthony Baney (Green) in the Erie County Legislature, District 3 general election.[4]
