Issue positions

Kathleen Drew is running for Washington Secretary of State in 2012
  • Elections

As laid out on her campaign website, Drew's main campaign platform is to "ensure impartial and fair elections, streamline services, and increase community and civic engagement."[4]

  • Increase voter registration

In her campaign advertisement, Drew says that Washington misses out on a useful opportunity to register people to vote when they receive their drivers licenses because those getting their licenses are too young. To counteract this, she wants to institute programs for pre-registering voters at the time they receive their licenses, and also Election Day registration.[5]

  • Voter-ID law

Drew is against legislation which would require voter photo identification at the polls. She said she "opposes efforts to suppress or discourage any groups or individuals from voting."[6]

Endorsements

Drew was endorsed by current Governor Christine Gregoire.[7]
