Governor Nathan Deal appointed Griffin as the Georgia State Auditor.[1] He was appointed on June 4, 2012, and assumed office on July 1, 2012.[2][3]
Biography
Griffin, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), graduated from Auburn University. From 2008 through his appointment as state auditor in July 2012, he was accounting officer for Georgia’s state government. Before this, he worked for 25 years with AT&T and its corporate affiliates. He began his accounting career as an auditor for Deloitte in 1979 and worked there until 1983.[4][5]
