Frank T. Caprio (b. May 10, 1966 Providence, RI) was a Democratic candidate for Rhode Island General Treasurer in the 2014 elections.
Caprio was the Democratic Rhode Island General Treasurer from 2007 to 2011. He made an unsuccessful bid for Governor of Rhode Island in 2010.[1]
Biography
Frank Caprio (Senior), a Rhode Island judge, and his wife, Joyce, had five children, of whom Frank T. Caprio was the oldest. One of his brothers, David Caprio, is a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives.
Caprio grew up in the same Federal Hill Neighborhood his grandparents has first called home after emigrating to America. From Narragansett public schools and Bishop Hendricken High School, he went on to Harvard University.
At Harvard, Caprio played baseball and football, being named as both a All-Eastern League outfielder in 1988 and as an All-Ivy League defensive back Harvard's 1987 championship football team.
Caprio was 21 when Rhode Island's 2nd Congressional District named him a delegate to the 1988 Democratic National Convention in Atlanta. He was still in law school in Boston when he won his first election. During his term in the House, he travelled between Boston and Providence by train to attend classes and sessions.
After finishing law school, Caprio passed the bar in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He worked with London based Cookson Group plc. focusing on tax and finance issues. He is practicing with Caprio & Caprio. Caprio and his wife, Gabriella, have one son and one daughter.[2]

State Treasurer (2007-2011)
Caprio served as the State Treasurer of Rhode Island from 2007 to 2011.
State Legislature (1990-2007)
Caprio served in the Rhode Island State Senate from 1994-2007 and in the Rhode Island House of Representatives from 1990-1994.
Elections
2014
Caprio ran for election to the office of Rhode Island General Treasurer. Caprio did not win the Democratic nomination in the primary.[3] The general election took place on November 4, 2014.[4]
