Evan Morgan was a member of the Moreno Valley Unified Board of Education in California, representing Trustee Area 5. Morgan assumed office in 2016. Morgan left office in 2018.

Morgan ran for election to the Moreno Valley Unified Board of Education to represent Trustee Area 5 in California. Morgan lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.

Morgan resigned on August 31, 2018, after being arraigned for illegal possession of firearms.[1]

Two of the five seats on the Moreno Valley Unified School District Board of Education were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. No incumbents filed to run for re-election, guaranteeing two newcomers joined the board. Candidates Tiffany Alvarez, Kevin Giser, Marisela Felix Lopez, Susan Smith, and Daryl Terrell ran for the open Trustee Area 2 seat, and Smith won the election. The race for the open Trustee Area 5 seat featured candidates Wende Deaton Ashley, Ruthee Goldkorn, Irick Vaughn Hale, Evan Morgan, and George Schoelles. Morgan was elected to the seat.[2][3]

Morgan reported $6,114.00 in contributions and $6,107.64 in expenditures to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters, which left his campaign with $6.36 on hand in the election.[4]

Arrest on charges of illegal firearm possession (2018)

Morgan was arrested in June 2018 on charges of illegal possession of an assault rifle and illegal sale of two other firearms. He had taken leave from the board earlier in June after being arrested on suspicision of burglary and vandalism.[1]

Morgan denied the allegations of burglary and vandalism. In a statement about the charges of illegal firearm possession, he said, "I will not comment on the specifics of the criminal cases except to say that I hope to resolve this matter as soon as possible and I am thankful for the support of my friends and family in this time."[1]
