“ | What is your political philosophy?
Education: With college costs increasing 400% over the last 40 years, we need to start looking at college as an investment into the long-term success of our citizens, their families, our communities and our state. Our college programs partner with industry to ensure we are training to the long-term staffing goals of industry and ensuring that the ability to pay for these programs is funded by the exceedingly flush corporate superstructures. What is the solution? By providing the means for individuals to focus all their efforts on developing critical skills, we tap into a proven method of developing performance excellence. This creates an exceptionally competitive workforce. Supporting these programs ensures we invest in our future, transforms the Maryland workforce into the most competitive workforce in the country and makes the state exceedingly attractive to industry partners. DACA: 800,000 people are currently in the United States that qualify for DACA. This legislation presents a reasonable way to ensure that citizenship for them is secured and this fits within our national ethos to help them become Americans. I have a personal connection to this issue. My mother was born in Albania and immigrated to the United States when she was 8. I know firsthand that many communities see the United States as an extraordinary opportunity. The addition of these folks into the US workforce adds greatly to our nation and continues the long and storied tradition of the continued work to perfect the union. What is the solution? Support of DACA is support for the best of our what our nation has always been; a nation of immigrants. We must provide critical support for this policy and pressure the administration to get this important piece of legislation finalized. Small Business and Innovation: Maryland has a unique opportunity to lead the nation with innovation, the development of brilliant new ideas and support the growth of small businesses. This is our campaign’s collective new vision of Maryland. Tap into the existing exceptional base of talent in Maryland and develop organizations around them to refine and introduce new ideas that find a better way. A better way that includes manufacturing, renewable energy, science, and technology, through the development and growth of well-funded innovation hubs. These develop small business ideas, help them grow and expand, and provide a mechanism for industry to partner with early-stage development of companies. Is there anything you would like to add? Erik Jetmir, ONLY candidate for Maryland U.S. Senate with Intel Community & Cyber experience who has actually done that work! I want to bring the struggle of everyday citizens to the White House. From the National Security impacts, underemployment, the incredible cost of medical insurance, childcare, the continued work of our schools and persistent struggles of the poor. I want to be your ground engaged advocate. I will bring all parties to the table, and I will get the job done for all of us, not just career politicians and insiders. We can do better than this and I want to make that happen for all of us Maryland is ready for change and we need to lead the nation in providing no cost college, that includes housing, meals, childcare and medical insurance. We need policies that put the middle class and struggling poor to work. With a comprehensive training and education program that provides a complete solution, we will ensure more of our best and brightest see their potential realized, not just those that can afford it. We are ready for this kind of change. We can. We must. We will.[2] |
