Elisabeth Jensen was a Democratic candidate for the United States House of Representatives in the 2014 elections. She ran in the 6th Congressional District of Kentucky.[1] She was defeated by incumbent Andy Barr (R) in the general election.[2] She defeated Geoff Young in the Democratic primary on May 20, 2014.[3]

Biography

In 1984, Jensen earned her A.A.S. from Tobe-Coburn School in merchandising and buying operations.[4] Following graduation, she pursued a career in manufacturing and marketing.[5]

She serves as president and executive director of The Race for Education, a nonprofit organization providing financial aid, academic development programs and financial literacy training. She also served on the Kentucky State Advisory Commission for Exceptional Children since 2011.[6][5]

Jensen has been a Kentucky resident for 14 years.[6]

Jensen ran for election to the U.S. House, representing the 6th Congressional District of Kentucky. She defeated Geoff Young in the Democratic primary on May 20, 2014.[3] The general election took place on November 4, 2014. [1]
