Biography
Dianne Black was born in Barton, Mississippi. She graduated from the Unrii School of Beauty Culture in 1980. Black's career experience includes owning a hair salon.[1][2]

In Mississippi the biggest struggle for everyone is the color of our skin.
Anyone can become a Representative if they win the popularity contest with a term of only 2 years, if governing is not for you, then the turnover is quick.

An associate was accused of having a home abortion and forced to pay for a pregnancy test even though she told them emphatically that she's not had a boyfriend in 3 years. Finally, after many tests they determined she had fibroid problems. She was treated poorly and with suspicion, when the reality was she should have received private healthcare. But her healthcare was not private because if she'd had an abortion, her healthcare provider would have been forced to report her so that she could have been charged with carrying out an abortion, punished in Mississippi by 10 years in prison and $100,000 fine.
My Daddy (92) tells my favorite joke: A group of Black men went hunting on posted land, by the time the owner came out they were across the street and no longer on the posted land, but their dogs were still hunting on the posted land. The man told them can't you read that sign? it says No Hunting. And they said, yes Sir, but we're not on the posted land, our dogs are, and they cannot read.

My name is Dianne Dodson Black and I am a small business owner (40 years) who has always lived in Mississippi. I have been happily married for 49 years, have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. I have always had an interest in my community and in politics and have run for office as a proud Democrat in Olive Branch, Mississippi. I'm interested in preserving our Democracy, and if elected will be a yes vote for the Biden/Harris administration just like Mississippi MS-02 Congressman Benny G. Thompson. Northern Mississippi has never had an African American woman run for MS-01, US Congress, and if elected, I will bring my life's experiences to the table where decisions are made in Washington DC.
- The American people deserve to have their tax dollars spent on stimulating our economy.
- Mississippians need to be paid a living wage and have access to affordable Healthcare.
- I support extending the 2021 Child Tax Credit.
Healthcare and helping the poor.
I have been appalled when our current US Representative has voted to end the Affordable Care Act, with absolutely no replacement plan. It is the responsibility of our government to help the people, and the Biden Harris administration has rescued us with vaccines and public policies to protect each other. Because Mississippi has refused to expand Medicaid, many of our rural hospitals have been forced to close. I am personally alarmed that healthcare for all Mississippians is not a top priority for all elected officials, State and Federal.
Currently the House of Representatives passed the Crown Act which still needs to be passed by the Senate. This passage would help the poor in Mississippi, especially poor Black women, who are forced by employers to invest their income in changing their natural hair. It is my perception that when government fails to help the poor, our churches are then forced to feed and help them, instead of using our tax dollars to help each other which is more reliable.
To be honest, fair and transparent.
I'm honest and caring.
My 40 years of business experience will help me make sound decisions.
1. To occupy the table where decisions are made and to do your best to make those decisions helpful to the people of Mississippi. You must attend to the business of running the US government.
2. To hold Town Hall meetings so that you can hear from your constituents.
3. To support our Democracy and not the Insurrectionists.
4. To support Voting Rights so the People of Mississippi always have fair and equal access to the voting box.
5. To force our Federal Government to seriously address Climate Change.
Dianne Dodson Black was a champion to prevent the overheating of our planet via climate change, she preserved our Democracy and was good for Mississippi.
The assasination of President Kennedy in 1963 and in 1968 Robert Kennedy was very shocking to me.
