2013
Meadows ran in the special election for Alabama House of Representatives District 74. The seat was vacant following Jay Love's (R) resignation to work for the Business Council of Alabama. Meadows faced Heather Sellers and Dimitri Polizos in the October 8 Republican primary. Since no candidate gained more than fifty percent of the votes, the top two vote-getters - Meadows and Polizos - met in a runoff on November 19, which Polizos won.[2][3][4][5]

|- I am a strong proponent of School Choice because parents who get to decide the school their child attends will have more engagement and better buy in with the school. The child will perform better.
- I am a strong believer in the parents right to determine the education of their child and to be aware of and fully informed of curriculum and other decisions made by the board members.
- We need to hold the state department of education accountable to the local school systems and transparent to the taxpayers.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
