I'm a 30+ year resident of south Anchorage. I'm a former mechanic, former secondary teacher retired from the Anchorage School District and serving my second term on the ASD Board. I'm a practical problem solver that believes we need good quality services done as efficiently as possible, and we need to balance our budget.

  • I am not beholden to party bosses from any party. I'm on the ballot by citizen nominating petition.
  • I will work with any other legislator to get a balanced budget that preserves things important to Alaskans.
  • We need to protect the PFD for the long run, as well as provide a good education to our children, both in K-12 and in college.

Our budget needs to be balanced and the actions of state government need to be stable and predictable. We can't swing from one severe cut to another every time the price of oil goes down. There are ways to make our future much more predictable but it does involve some sacrifice in the short run. I'm ready to be part of that.

I was 9 and happened to be in Washington DC when Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech.

My very first job was at age 13 doing clean up work at a private pool and tennis club. I did that for two summers.
