This article is about the mover director. For similar uses, see Wing.

Wing Len is a director employed by Varrimovers International. Although he has experience directing movers, he is considered only a mediocre director in his field.[1]

History[]

As a director, Wing Len worked on two movers: Ice Warriors and The Crescent Island Doom. While neither were particularly well-reviewed, they were profitable and functional. He also had other means to make money than banking on a successful mover, usually by putting the relatives of wealthy aristocrats into his movers.[2]

Wing Len was hired by Varrimovers International executive Hongmei to produce the studio's latest attempt at a big and expensive mover, Sengo: Lady of the Winds. The decision to go with Wing Len was made on account of budget, as hiring a mediocre director would allow the production company to spend more on the special effects and the premiere, as well as the best resources for film, camera, and lighting.[3] However, Hongmei knew that even though Wing Len did not have much of an artistic drive, he could get the job done decently and cheaply.[1][2]

On day one of filming, Wing Len made Sengo's actress, Xue, wear an orange koalaotter bikini for the production. He also informed her that her role would require pretty much just one thing, as his direction had highly enlightened airbender Sengo never express emotions, desires, or goals, always acting empty of feeling. Wing Len always told Xue to tone it down when she tried to inject some humanity into Sengo, and always dismissed her feedback. He made it clear to Xue that she could always be replaced with another actress, and even with VI facing a dire situation, he pretended as if even if they missed the premiere, the studio would reshoot the whole mover and schedule a new premiere if Xue caused trouble.[2]

Wing Len also found that he was unable to make money through his usual route of casting relatives of rich and well-connected society figures. Wing therefore found another way to get paid: through the Creeping Crystal Triad's lieutenant, Amrita. She asked Wing to help delay production of the mover, slowing it just enough to put pressure on Hongmei to give her a cut of the profits. As he thought it sounded great to get paid to pretty much do nothing, he was happy to oblige, especially as he helped to exacerbate the conflicts and bad feelings of the cast and crew on set.[2] Hongmei could not fire Wing Len unless he could demonstrate gross negligence or malfeasance, and Wing Len was good at appearing just casually negligent.[1] During the production of the mover, Wing Len stayed at the Sleeping Sloth-Mouse, an hotel close to the studio.[4]

Due to the security issues on set, a new security team arrived: Erdene, Qacha, Thi, Meeka, and Dae. The five arrived at the studio as a tremor struck, causing actor Quin Yu's harness to toss him about and cause the controlled tubing at his ankles to spray flames everywhere, causing saber-tooth moose lion animal actor Sweetie to toss Xue in the air.[5] In the aftermath of the shaking, Wing Len started to criticize Xue's performance as being too emotional, even though she was being stoic as he desired. The lead actress was livid, especially as Wing Len did not even ask how she was doing after being rattled.[5][6]

Personality[]

Wing Len is a very greedy person who is driven to get paid large amounts of money. While getting paid simply meant carrying on with production at the beginning of the production of Sengo, his lack of morals led him to take Amrita's money to delay filming and exacerbate the issues on set.[2][1]

Abilities[]

Wing Len is considered a mediocre director without artistic drive, but he could get the job done when needed to, and could produce functional movers that were able to make a profit. If ever caught in a fight, he relied on his fast movement to keep himself out of the worst of harm's way.[1][2]
