Votes for deletion is where discussions on whether an article should be deleted are held. Any user may propose the deletion of a page on the wiki; before nominating an article for deletion, ensure you are familiar with the wiki's deletion policy.
Procedure[]
- The proposer posts their nomination for deletion below under Current discussions. The proposer must support their nomination with a sensible reason for why the page should be deleted; nominations without an accompanying reason will be summarily rejected. Common reasons for deletion are:
- the subject of the article is too minor to warrant a page
- the information contained in the article is already noted elsewhere
- the information contained in the article would be better added to an existing article
- The proposer must then apply the {{VfD}} template to the top of the article nominated for deletion.
- Discussion about the proposed deletion can begin immediately. An administrator may retroactively reject the proposal if it is deemed inappropriate.
- Any user may reply to the discussion, and should indicate their opinion using
{{Vote delete}}to support deleting the page,{{Vote keep}}to support keeping it, and{{Vote merge}}to support merging the information into another page. - Since this is a discussion, a reason should be provided for each vote. Votes without a valid reason may not be considered when determining the consensus.
- The consensus of the discussion will be determined by an active administrator and carried out after three days, starting from the last relevant comment.

This article encompasses our current, and likely all of our information on this position. With our complete knowledge, it still fails to meet a reasonable page length for the article to be kept. However, as the article contains relevant information, I suggest we compile the following information onto the military ranks page. Delete — Agreed on the deletion, I don't see what else could be added to the article to bring it to the length required. For where else the information could be added, I'm not sure about the military ranks page, as War Minister is more a position than a rank. The Military of the Fire Nation article already has some information on the role of the War Minister in the first few paragraphs, adding whatever is missing there would be my suggestion. Currently this article is not long enough to warrant being kept. However, as I do not know if it can be sufficiently expanded based on the content from the recently released novel, I am prompting this discussion here on whether the article should be kept. - Keep — I vote keep because this is the first fire female avatar ever to be named. I made this page for that reason. I don't recall Salai having as much description. Regardless, I think it is monumental and shouldn't be removed. Also if Reckoning of Roku gets another book, more information may be revealed on this Avatar. I would keep it until the next book comes out and see what happens, whether or not feelings have changed by then. Matter of fact actually, I would think every avatar has a page, even if short, because Avatars are supposed to be the main icon of this franchise. It is named Avatar. - Salai does not have an article for the same reason there is no information known on them. Her being the first female Fire Avatar is irrelevant, and we don't keep articles that are below the necessary length because they "might" get more information in the future. That way people can link to it and we have it accounted for, but we don't need a full article yet with the level of information we have. We might as well do that for Salai too. And it's worth mentioning that we don't need a LOT of information for an article to be enough... Gun (Avatar) only has 4 small paragraphs of info. It's not a very high bar to pass. As the addition of this information to Aang's article led to an edit war, I am opening this up for a VfD discussion as a way to come to a consensus on whether this information is valid to be added, and also as a separate article. HAMMEROFTHØR (wall) • 12:19, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- Delete — As I stated during the discussion regarding the additions to Aang's main article, this content is utterly unnecessary. For once, most currently known bending skills are already subjective interpretations - we have few skills which are actually named; most listed on the bending pages are given names by the editors. Accordingly, one could possibly interpret nearly every minor bending move or adaption as a "new" banding skill for individual characters, making any "bending skill" list extremely prone to both bloating as well as fanon-level interpretations. Lastly, we should not just create lists or articles for no reason - they should add valuable, well-sourced information to the wiki. What exactly do "bending skill" lists add to any character articles which is not already conveyed by the summaries of the bending abilities? In my opinion, they add nothing of note. This article is a recently created fork of Harmony Restoration Movement and Battle for Yu Dao. It is a very small article with no new or separate information and basically copies all of its content from the two older articles. There is no reason to maintain such a small fork. Article about a place(?) mentioned once. The context in which Bao Yu is mentioned makes it impossible to say what Bao Yu is, let alone where it is. The article is complete speculation, assuming that Bao Yu is a town near Republic City, but it could be also a district, a village, or a named crossroads. With no more sources, the article could never be expanded beyond "Bao Yu is a place". Thus, all information on this place(?) is sufficiently covered by other articles.
