This article is about the airbender in the TTRPG. For the character in The Reckoning of Roku, see Dalisay.

Dalisay is a lapsed member of the Terra Triad who developed airbending abilities following the Harmonic Convergence of 171 AG. She is the founder of Nomadic Pro-bending, a variation of the popular sport that features an airbender as a fourth member of the team.[1]

History[]

Dalisay is the daughter of Tala, one of the founding members of the Terra Triad. Her mother passed away when she was still young, but many other Terra Triad members acted as her de facto family. Her father, Ramil, was also a member of the Terra Triad, but he was never as important as Tala, nor was he as important as her. He spent most of Dalisay's life in and out of prison.

When Dalisay came of age, she became one of the Terra Triad's most prominent enforcers. While serving in that role, she learned that Ramil had secretly been working as a mole for the police since his most recent release from prison, managing to secure a deal that landed him an early release in exchange for informing on the Terra Triad. Instead of siding with her father, Dalisay turned him into the triad, but her loyalty was not rewarded as she expected. Some wished to use this to oust her before she could take power as Tala's heir, while others viewed her with suspicion, both for turning on her father and being the daughter of a traitorous mole. She stayed with the Terras, but found their trust in her diminishing every day.

Dalisay began manifesting newfound airbending abilities after Harmonic Convergence. She jumped at the opportunity to train at Air Temple Island and temporarily cut ties with the triad. She ended up confused and alone, having a crisis of identity as she was no longer an active criminal. However, she did not have much time to come to terms with this, as she found airbending training to be particularly intense.

In what little spare time Dalisay had, she worked up a new style of airbending to work within the rules of Pro-bending, labeling it "Nomadic Pro-bending". The sport allowed her a sense of escapism, and allowed her to blow off some steam instead of acting out whenever Tenzin chastised her for her lack of restraint. Her innovation received attention in sports journalism, and it rapidly became popular in Republic City. While the number of airbenders was still too small for the makeup of the professional leagues to change, it caught on as a new rules variation of the game.

Dalisay teamed up with the Bau Ling Buzzard Wasps for the first ever exhibition match with nomadic rules being held at the Pro-bending Arena, with the team due to play off against the Future Industries Fire Ferrets. Seats for the upcoming match sold out, but in the run-up to the event, Dalisay's past came back to haunt her. Triad member Duyi visited her to demand a show of loyalty, since the airbender never officially left the triad. Duyi told Dalisay that she would be fully brought back into the fold if she intentionally lost the game, as the Terra Triad would be able to make a small fortune on bets if they could control the outcome of the first ever nomadic match in the Golden Temple.

Dalisay felt conflicted on what to do, as she partly felt betrayed by triad's treatment of her since she turned in her father, but also saw them as her true family. She did not want to betray the triad as her father did, and started leaning toward accepting Duyi's offer, even though it would betray her ideals, her dreams, and her commitment to the other airbenders. Tenzin became aware that Dalisay was troubled, and had suspicions about her contact with Duyi. While Dalisay had never been a model airbender, the master still considered her part of the Air Nation, and started looking for allies with a similar background to her who might help her overcome her troubles.[1]
