It looks like La Crawfish closed up its sole Austin shop last fall without a word, as pointed out by a tipster, as well as Yelpers. The current number is disconnected, and a call to one of the other locations confirmed the shutter.

The chain was known for crawfish and pho, along with other boiled seafood served with dipping sauces. Statesman critic Matthew Odam really enjoyed La Crawfish's crustaceans, especially paired with the garlic butter sauce.LA Crawfish made its Austin debut over the summer in 2015. The Houston chain has one location out in California, and another in San Antonio.

This brings up the number of 2016 shuttered restaurants up to 59. For other crawfish needs, look to Shoal Creek Saloon. The bar begins its mudbug boils for the season this week.
