Clarksville Seafood Spot Liberty Kitchen Unexpectedly Closed

Liberty Kitchen, the seafood restaurant and oyster bar from Houston, closed suddenly yesterday, as reported by Austin 360. The publication noted that the owners, Feed TX, is looking for a new location within Austin.

The Austin expansion of Liberty made its debut in Clarksville in May 2015 under Lance Fegen, the owner and culinary director of all of Feed TX’s restaurants. It came loaded with oysters, gumbo, poke, and other seafaring fare. It also so happened to be right near another lauded oyster spot, Clark’s Oyster Bar.

The group also recently shuttered BRC Gastropub (which stood for Big Red Cock, after the rooster logo) in Houston earlier this month to refocus energy on Liberty Kitchen, and a second location in the city. There are three Liberty Kitchens already, along with a fourth restaurant, Little Library, also centered on seafood.

Austin’s weekend shutters included Prelog’s, the European-style restaurant which had its last day yesterday as well.
