The Alpharetta location of the Danny Meyer-back burger chain Shake Shack opens on Wednesday, February 16. Shake Shack takes over a former Burger King on Haynes Bridge Road, and it includes a drive-thru pick-up window for people who order ahead.

The building was given a complete Shake Shack overhaul, adding a large patio, an ordering kiosk, and redesigned dining room to the burger restaurant. People can preorder online or through the Shake Shack app to pick up their food from the pick-up window. Local delivery is also available.

Shake Shack plans to donate a dollar for every burger sold during the February 16 opening to local foster children nonprofit organization Dream Weavers.

This will be the fifth Shake Shack location in metro Atlanta, with a sixth location opening near the 12th Street entrance to Piedmont Park in midtown Atlanta this spring. Shake Shack already includes locations in Buckhead, at the Perimeter, on the Eastside Beltline in the Old Fourth Ward, and on Concourse A at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. [Official]

Beltline could be the next location for an autonomous grocery store

After opening their first grocery store using artificial intelligence and delivery robots in Fayetteville earlier this year, Jamie and Jilea Hemmings may be eyeing property along the Beltline in Atlanta for a new location of Nourish + Bloom Market. The Beltline store would be housed within a converted shipping container, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The precise location has yet to be disclosed. Another location could also open at Serenbe, south of the current Fayetteville shop. Nourish + Bloom used self-guiding technology where people scan QR codes with a smartphone app to shop and pay for items. Custom-built robots with temperature controlled compartments can then deliver groceries to people living within a specific distance to the store. [ABC]

Sandy Springs gains a new brewery with plenty of outdoor space

Jack Poole and Chris Shapiro just opened Mutation Brewing Co. in Sandy Springs, taking over the former Taqueria Tsunami restaurant on Roswell Road, the AJC reports. Look for around eight to 12 beers on tap once the brewery ramps up production, including a double IPA and milk stout, as well as hard seltzers and a Peruvian drink called the chicha made with purple corn. Barbecue is available from Spiced Right Ribhouse in Roswell.

Seating just over 300 people between the taproom and bar, partially covered patio, and a rooftop bar, Mutation Brewing also features a small events space hidden behind a door at the brewery for private parties. There’s a possibility that space could eventually open for the late-night crowd. [AJC]
