Rest in peace dear Elizabeth
I'll be watching National Velvet tonight.
This image is from that wonderful MGM movie released in 1944.
When I was a young girl just learning to ride, I watched this
movie every chance I had. A 12 year old Elizabeth did a wonderful
job of bringing Enid Bagnold's character Velvet to life.
Love,
Susan and Bentley

She lead a full life and was certainly beautiful and talented!

Sad news.
ReplyDeleteI have long thought that she was one of the most beautiful women in the world. Her life was eventful
ReplyDeleteWhat a great beauty she was.. I hope she finds the happiness she sought on this plane, on the next...
ReplyDeleteShe was my favorite actress of all time. I wanted to look like her, act like her, be her. *sigh* We have lost one of the biggest legends of all time.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know she had passed....she was a great actress..may she rest in peace....blessings
ReplyDeleteI had not heard about her passing. This is so sad. I love National Velvet (we are horse people). Hug Bentley for me, Susan, because I know he is probably very sad, too!
ReplyDeleteShe was truly a national treasure.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I posted a little tribute to her too. She had a generous spirit!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful blog my *friend*, check out my blog where I posted about her, my mom's cousin worked for her for years.
