The Thrift Stop is a store in Los Angeles, California that formerly held the Calamity Box, where Anne was persuaded by Sasha and Marcy into stealing it in 2019 on her 13th birthday.
Appearance[]
The buildings surrounding the thrift shop are grimy and aged, with lack of color, and the atmosphere appears polluted. The building itself is a salmon red color and has a green and red sign at the top. It is located close to an old park where the Calamity Box was first opened. The area around the shop is very messy.
It has a moderately clean interior surrounded by various objects and clothing normally found in a thrift shop, such as furniture and used shirts. The checkout area is located very close to the door where an elderly woman was sleeping during the events of the flashback where Anne stole the box.
Background[]
The Thrift Stop was a store that sold people's donations. At one point, a mysterious music box was donated to the place.
One day, Marcy came upon the shop after running away after learning her dad got a new job out of state. She saw the Calamity Box through the window and chose it to be a present for Anne on her 13th birthday. Sasha and Anne soon arrived at the shop, and Sasha convinced Anne to steal it, so Anne went inside. A man was looking at some clothes while Anne stood in front of the Calamity Box. Spotting the owner still asleep, Anne grabbed the box off the shelf, put it in her backpack, and then walked out of the store shoplifting it.
Sometime later, the Thrift Stop had closed down and the owners moved away. During Anne's time on Earth while trying to figure a way to get back to Amphibia, Anne attempted to visit the shop, hoping to learn how the box ended up in the shop. However, Anne discovered the shop had closed, leaving Anne's question unanswered.

- In the original storyboard, it was titled "Thrift Shop" and on the outer appearance, a letter was supposed to fall off the sign.
- This is the first place from Earth to be seen in the series during the flashback in the second segment of the first episode "Best Fronds".
