Zadakhan Mynbai was born in 1939 in the village of Karakemel, Darbiljin district, in the Xinjiang region of China and is considered one of the fathers of Kazakh literature in China. He spent twenty years in exile in Tarim due to the Anti-Rightist Campaign. After his acquittal in 1980, he worked as a lawyer and retired in 1997.
Mynbai was a member of the Society of Chinese Writers, the Society of Chinese Minorities, the Society of Xinjiang Writers, and of the Writers’ Union of the Ile Kazakh Autonomous Region.
He is the author of the books Kokeitest, Face to Face, and Field Law. He passed away in 2017.
