Our Creative Space...
Our creative space is always full of natural materials, nature is an unending source of inspiration and materials. Like these spines, we just started to use them many more possibilities are waiting for us.
Branches to make trees, we are also thinking about making big trees for home decor, still need to puzzle for that.
Pebbles, which we carefully searched for on the beach and then drilled, have now become earrings and keychains, full of great nature and beach vibes.
Limpet shells, with their amazing details.
Mushroom coral, good enough to eat!
Lots and lots of shells in all kind of shapes and sizes.
Interesting shapes to built a castle.
We sometimes think about the guys out there :)
And last but certainly not least, sea urchins!
And still our heads are exploding with ideas :)

Our Creative Space...
I sometimes wonder how we have ended up on the road of creativity. But then when you think about it, this road is endless but you constantly do arrive at your destination, and then again continue to explore new mediums and techniques. The fun is never ending and is much better then any kind of therapy.
This week some very nifty flowers, made with old crochetted madaillons and then crochetted to wires to become amazing flowers. We are still considering if we want to sell it or just keep it for ourselves :)
And incase you were wondering what we did with last week's patchwork, here is the result which will be listed tonight in our bagshop.

Our Creative Space...
This week we have been making patchwork for bags. The only way I will make patchwork is with scraps, other wise all that cutting and sewing again goes against my practical nature.
I use the 'glue on' method. After cutting the scraps I 'glue' them on iron on interface. Just place the patches in neat rows, iron lightly on the good side, flip and iron thoroughly on the back.
Then fold along the rows of patches and stitch with a 10mm seam allowance. Do first the short rows and then the long rows. By that second make sure that you flip all the seams of the short rows in the same direction.
Iron well, and voila, a one of a kind fabric, that cost nothing but the time to make it and has the proper body for bags. Here I've used 10 cm squares, so that I ended up with 8 cm squares. You can do it a bit bigger, but not much, or you will loose the patchwork effect after you have cut the pieces for your bag. Smaller is ok, if your scraps are smaller and your patience larger, you can make it at small as stamps.
We yet have to make a bag out of the patchwork fabric, we will show you soon.
And remember the little peek of a bag I showed you last week?
We finished it off and it sold right away, we are happy :)
Similar bags are in the planning.

It is no suprise that we all have Japan in our hearts these days. Again we are reminded how helpless we are in the hands of Mother Nature. Hoping that your loved ones are safe.

Our Creative Space...
Like always we are busy with plenty of projects, here a peek of a few of them. Mum started another embroidery like this one.
She has also been busy with some amazing smocking, you are going to love this bag :)
And we have made another weekender! This time I didn't do the embroidery but someone else, many years ago. Alot of yummy vintage materials, aged leather and smashing details, you can find more pictures and information here.

Sometimes Life Becomes Complicated
We haven't been able to visit our own blog or other blogger blogs these past few days, thanks to a television channel who filled a complain against blogger because some blogs were broadcasting football (soccer) games although Digitürk (the channel) had bought the rights to broadcast.
A stupid stupid reason to ban people from millions of blogs, and this is the second time that this is happening, very frustrating.
Anyway this morning Kristin of Evihan, made our day by giving us a link to how to change your DNS so that you can enter the blogger world again.
Hurray for internet friendship, hurray for freedom :D

Introducing: Ideefix
This is the last one!
It is also the only one of our dogs that has not been rescued. He was a present of a friend who thought I would like a dog for my birthday !! Well...
Ideefix is an ugly little guy, who overcompensates, just like small men do, by being mucho macho! He has a peculiar rolling gait, and likes to parade in front of the other boys, making them crazy. When one of them is ready to bite, Ideefix runs to his mummy, typical macho behaviour. Only the hip holsters are missing.
Here is he, at the right, Lucky left. He is a sweet little guy, really.
And always in the first row at feeding times.
