Liftgate Service
When a pickup or delivery point has structural limitations, such as the absence of a loading dock, Liftgate Service is essential.
What Does Liftgate Service Mean?
A liftgate is the hydraulic mechanism installed on the back of the truck used to move items to and from ground level. Liftgate Service is essential at point-of-delivery for customers who have neither a shipping dock, nor access to the heavy machinery required to load and unload heavy pallets.
Weight and Size Limitations
The maximum weight per pallet a lift can accommodate is 2,000 pounds and the maximum pallet size the lift platform can accommodate is 48" x 60". Rules Tariff - Item 520
From Our Trailer to Your Home or Business
Not all shipments are delivered to shipping docks or receivers who have a forklift. Liftgate Service is necessary for nearly all residential customers. The same is true for businesses that rarely send or receive large shipments and do not have the equipment to load and unload freight. 85% of R+L Carriers’ expansive fleet of trucks are equipped with a premium, level-ride Liftgate.
