Freeze Protection service keeps freight from freezing by monitoring temperatures, weather forecasts, and implementing special handling such as protective packing and shipping procedures.

Equipped with a dedicated team and the necessary resources for cold-sensitive freight, R+L Carriers Freeze Protection service implements special handling procedures and consistent monitoring of outdoor temperatures.

Freeze Protection

Freeze Protection service keeps freight from freezing by monitoring temperatures, weather forecasts, and implementing special handling such as protective packing and shipping procedures. The R+L Carriers network of service centers keep freight moving, but Freeze Protection service is extra protection for products that freeze at, or below 32ºF.

Benefits

  • Internal reports identify freezable shipments passing through the R+L Network
  • Extreme weather alerts are updated on the R+L Carriers website in real-time. Search by zip code to see affected areas: rlc.com/service-delay
  • Protected delivery to all direct points in United States, Canada, and Mexico
  • Special handling and packing of freight while in transit and over weekends can include the use of warm rooms, cargo heaters, blankets and heated trailers
  • Note: Freeze protection available seasonally from October 1-May 1

To Activate Freeze Protection:

  • Must clearly mark/write "Protect from Freezing" on your Bill of Lading that is provided at time of pick up
