About the Show
In times of national emergency, a team comprised of Britain’s leading experts, crisis contingency planners and the most senior politicians assemble under the name COBRA (taken from its meeting place in Whitehall’s Cabinet Office Briefing Room A) to form the committee entrusted to protect the people of Great Britain. COBRA hurls us both into the corridors of power in Westminster and the eye of the storm in the worst-hit areas of the country.
Season 1
After the nation is plunged into darkness following disruption from a geomagnetic solar storm, Prime Minister Robert Sutherland assembles a team comprised of Britain’s leading experts, crisis contingency planners and the most senior politicians assemble under the name COBRA to form the committee entrusted to protect the people of Great Britain and steer the nation through the storm.
Season 2 | Cyberwar
When a suspected Kremlin operation on British soil causes collateral casualties, Sutherland feels compelled to respond with force - against the counsel of his MI5 Head Eleanor James. As the situation in Kent takes a sudden and catastrophic turn for the worse, an unseen enemy chooses this time to strike from the shadows, with devastating consequences. Who is this mysterious adversary? Are these simultaneous disasters linked? As the COBRA members grapple with these questions, they begin to fear they may be witnessing the opening moves of a wider game for which none of them are prepared.
Season 3 | Rebellion
Sutherland is plunged into chaos when an environmental demonstration meets with grave consequences, just as his popularity is plummeting in light of a controversial police-protest bill. Meanwhile, his home life is in turmoil, and his government is still reeling from a recent cyberwar.
As the inquest into the events at the protest gets underway, the Prime Minister and his government begin to realize that all is not as it seems. And with his daughter potentially embroiled with the group behind it all, his interest in the case isn’t purely political.
