THE ICE IS GONE – A storm sweeping the state came early this morning to the Tawas area, Thursday Feb. 15. The predicted storm moving west to east named the snow/rain line as mid-state from Grand Rapids to Flint with a possible accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. The winter weather advisory, as reported by Accuweather.com, is from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. with precipitation turning from heavy, wet snow earlier in the day to freezing rain, then tapering off. Watch out for slippery road conditions throughout the day. The high of the day is predicted at 36 degrees Fahrenheit with a windchill feel of 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
