Thousands of books and merchandise sold at steep discounts.
Along with the remainder books available at our store in Harvard Square, our Needham Warehouse houses thousands of bargain books. Remainder books are new books sold by publishers at deeply cut prices, which bookstores then sell to customers at bargain prices. Our warehouse sales are a beloved tradition in Harvard Book Store's history, going back to December 2008. Multiple times a year we opened the doors for customers to browse the shelves full of books across genres, fiction, history, art, cookbooks, crafts, and more.
During the summer of 2020, we hosted the first online-only sale and incorporated them into our regular warehouse sale schedule. In the summer of 2022, our warehouse moved from its location in Somerville to Needham, and we held an in-person sale once again during spring 2024.
Now our Warehouse Sales happen throughout the year both at HBSWarehouseSale.com and in-person in Needham. Sales feature new and used books, merchandise, plus more and we offer an exclusive preview for members of the Frequent Buyer Program.
Year-round our store in Harvard Square hosts a large collection of discounted remainders in the bargain and used books department downstairs, and online there's the Discount Dozen, our special rotating selection of books from our warehouse.
