Douglas County 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update

Douglas County 2046: Comprehensive Plan Update

The comprehensive plan is the 20-year vision for how unincorporated Douglas County will grow through 2046. This plan, which is a requirement under the state’s Growth Management Act, contains ten elements which guide the vision, goals, and policies for future growth and development of the county.

Douglas County updates its comprehensive plan every 10 years with the participation of people who live and work within it. The next review and update to the Douglas County comprehensive plan must be completed by June 30, 2026.

Public Participation Plan (PPP)

As per the Douglas County Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update 2026, Public Participation Plan (PPP), on November 14, staff commenced the public outreach efforts by holding two Open Houses. The first one was at the City of Bridgeport and the second one was at the Town of Mansfield. Both these outreach meetings were very productive. Due to the weekday meeting, not too many people attended the Open House, but it was made up by a focused discussion on the growth, population, housing, trends, and issues with staff, the mayor, and clerks from the City of Bridgeport and the Town of Mansfield, Washington.

The next public outreach efforts will begin in the spring of 2025 and will include the Town of Waterville, the Town of Coulee Dam, the City of East Wenatchee, and the City of Rock Island, Washington.
