You should take advice from your College when deciding a date to arrive. When you arrive, you should go straight to your College to register with them (if advised), collect your University identity card, and be given directions to your accommodation.

We will be registering all MPhil and Part III students Monday 7 October 2024 in person in the Atrium of the William Gates Building from 09:45 a.m. until 10:25 a.m.

In the weeks before teaching starts: 

You will need to complete a short set of registration exercises on Moodle (available from 30 September 2024)

You have until 08:00am on Thursday 10 October to complete this.

You will need to confirm that:

a) you have read the rules issued by the University of Cambridge Information Services at https://help.uis.cam.ac.uk/new-starters/it-for-students/student-it-services/rules; and https://help.uis.cam.ac.uk/policies/governance-and-policy-documents

b) that you have read the Faculty's guidance on plagiarism and collusion, and the University's guidance, The University's definition of plagiarism and the associated links;

c) that you have read and understand the Department's Guidance regarding the use of AI tools in assessed work

c) that you have read the University Code of Practice for Master's Students;

d) that you have completed the Research Skills Unit CU0 Preparatory modules, "What is Academic English", "Clarity in writing" and "How to avoid plagiarism";

e) that you understand the safe working protocol for the William Gates Building;

f) and that you understand the department's and the university's policies on recording taught sessions and agree not to share any recorded material.

g) You must change your password to an unguessable string known only to yourself as soon as possible. Rules for constructing valid password can be found at: https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/local/sys/ssh/passwords/
