Canon[]

Should we assume this Canon? - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 19:49, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

  • I'm not sure at all. In the mean time, I'm going to use a more ambiguous category. --LelalMekha (talk) 19:51, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
    • K, its a fun game. Since it was released after the declaration of the new canon, iv'e been placing it's appearances in Canon articles. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 19:55, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
      • I'd still like to hear what others have to say about it, though. If it is indeed canon, then the stage titled "Vader's Revenge" has new material. --LelalMekha (talk) 20:01, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
        • Considering Vader shoots down the Falcon, i'd say it's pretty ambiguous. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 20:42, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
          • I just had a look at a vid right now, and you don't actually shoot down the Falcon. You almost do, but in the last minute, Han says "Punch it Chewie!" and the Falcon disappears. Cue the Imperial commander telling you: "Let him go, my Lord!" --LelalMekha (talk) 20:48, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
            • Are you sure he didn't just fail? - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 20:49, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
              • You may be right about that. Anyway, it doesn't make much sense for the DS' superlaser to be intact after the explosion. --LelalMekha (talk) 20:55, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
                • If I recall correctly, in the original EU enough was intact of the DS1 to warrent the Empire setting up a salvage station in the Yavin system. This time, the roles are reversed. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 21:04, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
                  • Virtually everything released since last fall has been canon, so I'd assume this game is too. However, maybe we should tweet someone like LYC for clarification. --Dentface (talk) 21:10, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
                    • Hoping it's Canon, Vader Revenge was awesome. We seem very confused on what is and what isn't Canon these days. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 21:30, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
                      • I think that confusion will go away in time. Most of the issue currently is that there are a lot of Legends products that have been sort of "grandfathered" in, so to speak. As the years go by, those products should go away, and we should be able to just instantly see that something is or isn't canon. --Dentface (talk) 22:11, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
                        • Assuming this is Canon, should the events of Vader's Revenge be folded in with the Battle of Yavin? - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 22:23, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
                          • Probably, it'd make sense. There's no reason for an event that occurs seconds after the previous one to have its own page. It'd be a small one at that from what I've seen. --Dentface (talk) 23:25, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

(reset indent) The problem with the canonicity of gameplay too is that the outcomes aren't always set, whereas a book, film, comic, etc. have defined and specific outcomes. (Not to mention the fact that this is a game that can only be played in arcades, and isn't a wide release.) To that end I would ask, what are the events of Vader's Revenge? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:29, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

  • Vader levels out, watches DS1 explode, engages Rebel salvage fleet moving it to retrieve a still intact superlaser, damages Millenium Falcon, destroys Nebulon-B Frigate transporting superlaser core from Yavin. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 23:32, March 16, 2015 (UTC)
    • One thing for me that points it toward being canon is the fact that the Millennium Falcon escapes. If they weren't being treated as canon, they would probably do something like TFU's DLC, they would have just let the player destroy the Falcon. --Dentface (talk) 20:07, March 17, 2015 (UTC)
      • Are we sure the Falcon escaped? I remember destroying it, though my attention immediately shifted from it to the Neb-B once it's health bar ran dry. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 21:46, March 17, 2015 (UTC)
        • I'm only going by what was said here, I haven't actually played the game. This video looks like a good source for info on the game in general if we want to record what is and isn't in the game (whether or not it is canon). I haven't checked if Vader's Revenge is in it as the video is pretty long and I don't have time to sift through at the moment, but if you guys want to take a crack at it, go ahead. --Dentface (talk) 01:54, March 18, 2015 (UTC)

I thought we hadn't decided on wether or not to count this as canon? Personally, I don't think we should, but Nivlacanator added it to a bunch of pages. Cevan (talk) 02:34, March 22, 2015 (UTC)

  • I think the game itself is canon, as we can add appearances and images. Buuuuuyytt, like Galactic Defense and past Legends games, the actual meat of the game is to be taken with a grain of salt. As Brandon said, the game is canon but the gameplay is not. But Vader's revenge is still contested whether that's just a non-canon part of the game or what. Calvin Schubert(talk) 05:36, March 22, 2015 (UTC)
    • I just added the remaining pages on appearances after I noticed several canon pages with it added. Calvin Schubert(talk) 05:54, March 22, 2015 (UTC)

Appearances[]

Since this isn't being regarded as canon, is it alright to remove Battle Pod from the appearances section of pages? Cevan (talk) 17:26, May 31, 2015 (UTC)

  • I can confirm that in Vader's Revenge, you can destroy the Millenium Falcon.--AV-6R7 (talk) 20:37, August 12, 2015 (UTC)

Images[]

If anyone with a more storied account than mine is interested, I took a few photos of the Battle Pod and uploaded them to the Wikimedia Commons:

Perhaps it's worth having some non-promotional images. Feel free to add them to Wookieepedia, in case the Commons purges them. Pvoberstein (talk) 05:26, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

TFA Level[]

It says that it's only at dave and busters, but I found one with the Takodana level at an Xcape entertainment center at the Mall of America. Can somebody update that I'm not sure where else it might be as well.
