Star Wars: Battle of Jakku also known as Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku is a series of canon comic book limited series to be written by Alex Segura. It is set between Episode VI Return of the Jedi and Episode VII The Force Awakens and tells the story of the Galactic Civil War after the Battle of Endor leading up to the Battle of Jakku. However, the series contains a number of contradictions with the existing events set up by the Aftermath trilogy and the video game Star Wars: Uprising.

Continuity[]

Ranks and titles[]

Rae Sloane is depicted as a Grand Admiral as early as Battle of Jakku — Insurgency Rising 2,[7] which is set before the Akiva Summit[8] depicted by the novel Aftermath. However, in Aftermath, Sloane is only ever noted to be an admiral[9] and is not addressed as a Grand Admiral until the events of Aftermath: Life Debt.[10] This article assumes Sloane had taken the title in secret before publicly using it by Life Debt.

Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege 2 features Sloane and Gallius Rax as members of the Shadow Council,[11] an organization established during the events of Life Debt. By the end of Life Debt, Sloane has been separated from the council and Galactic Empire overall.[10] She does not reunite with the regime until the Battle of Jakku during Aftermath: Empire's End.[12] The prior issue, Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege 1, further contains a reference to the Millennium Falcon's journey to Ashmead's Lock,[8] something depicted within Life Debt.[10] As such, the events of Republic Under Siege 1 and 2 must be concurrent to Life Debt. However, Republic Under Siege 2 also depicts Rax using the title of "Counselor," with Sloane referring to him as "Counselor Rax."[11] Life Debt, however, establishes that Rax only took on the Counselor to the Empire title, said to be the first use of "Counselor" in Imperial records by General Hodnar Borrum, after being separated from Sloane,[10] with Sloane not hearing Rax be called "Counselor Rax" until Empire's End.[12] Sloane also uses the counselor title for Rax in their scene together in Battle of Jakku — Last Stand 2.[13]

Journeys and alliances[]

In Battle of Jakku — Last Stand 1, Han Solo, while in the Mid Rim Territories near the planet Takodana, is seen rushing to help his friends[14] on the planet Chandrila[13] in the Core Worlds.[15] However, the next issue, Battle of Jakku — Last Stand 2, depicts Solo as rushing from the planet Kashyyyk to help his friends and family[13] instead of Takodana.[14] The issue also states that Solo is in the Outer Rim Territories[13] despite Kashyyyk residing in the Mid Rim. Kashyyyk and Takodana are not nearby on the galactic map,[15] so Solo has no reason to rush from one to the other. Furthermore, Last Stand 2 claims that Solo is rushing away from Chewbacca and the liberation of Kashyyyk to help his other friends.[13] However, Last Stand 1 establishes that the attack on Chandrila has already passed,[14] which was concurrent to the Liberation of Kashyyyk according to Life Debt. Furthermore, Solo bid goodbye to Chewbacca in Life Debt to return to Chandrila with Leia Organa to respond to the attack.[10] As such, Solo should not have been present on Kashyyyk and the liberation has already passed, suggesting the Takodana mention is correct instead.

Last Stand 2 features Sloane speaking with Rax aboard the Vigilance after the attack on Chandrila]and before the Battle of Jakku,[13] which is not possible based on what is established in Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy. The Vigilance is destroyed in Aftermath[9] before the attack on Chandrila. Sloane is also separated from the Empire during the Chandrila attack[10] and does not reunite with it until the events of Empire's End, with Rax even assuming she has been captured or killed until their reunion on Jakku.[12] Sloane is further disgusted by Rax's actions and convinced she needs to kill him upon making it back to the Empire.[10] Last Stand 2, however, depicts Sloane and Rax working together post-Chandrila. While Sloane makes reference to disagreeing with the attack, she calls it "our attack."[13] The scene in Last Stand 2 is therefore an error.

Bragh's fate[]

The series also contradicts the storyline of the unfinished video game Star Wars: Uprising regarding the fate of the character Bragh. In Uprising, Bragh appears to be killed during the rescue mission to the Crypt. Bragh is shot by the player and, afterward, is only mentioned in past tense.[16] However, Bragh appears alive all the way until the Battle of Jakku itself in the Battle of Jakku comic series, with Bragh only being killed by Reyna Oskure during that battle.[17]
