CCEE1509
Sabrina is ending her hosting with a technique challenge this week. The challenge is to use an inlayed die-cut. I used the center of my card to do the inlayed die=cuts.. Then for the embellishment, I chose to simply use another die-cut in red and tan and have them shadow each other. Still needing a little something,I found this rhinestone sticker in my stash. I think this will be a great card for a 50th birthday or anniversary.
Join us in the fun this week and don't forget to put CCEE1509 as your keyword on SCS and go to the link on CCEE Stampers to share your card.

CCEE1508
Hello everybody! Sabrina is again bringing another challenge our way.
Interestingly, because February is a short month, there can actually be years in which there is no full moon at all. The last time this happened was 1999, the next time will be 2018. So while this isn’t one of those years - feature the moon on your cards.
I won this stamp free which makes it special to me. I decided it was perfect for this challenge. I colored the image with copic markers.
Don't forget to check out what moonlit wonders the rest of the team have come up with. And if you want to play along, you can upload to your SCS gallery using the keyword, or simply use the InLinkz tool over on the CCEEstampers blog.

Sabrina has another fine challenge for us this week:
The Finnish for February is “helmiku”, which means “month of the pearl”. Snow melting on twigs and refreezing as drops has a pearl-like look.
You can take it easy and just use pearls/Liquid Pearls on your card, or you could be adventurous and try out some pearl techniques; pull out that old Pearl-Ex or Perfect Pearls!! Here are a few suggestions to get you started, but feel free to use any others so long as they are pearl-related.
I used a layer of pearlized white over my entire rose. I also used some pearl-x on my embossed piece, and then added a few pearls as my embellishment.

Sabrina has listed the techniques you might want to try over on the CCEEstampers blog.
While you are there, check out the lovely cards created by the team members. If you play along, make sure you link up to the linky over on CCEE and if you post it on SCS use the CCEE1507 as your keyword.

CCEE1506
Sabina is the new hostess for February for CCEEStampers challenges. Since February 6. 1952 is the day that Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne, Sabrina is asking us to make a card featuring crowns and "royal" images --even playing cards would work.
Check out the royalty that "your highnesses," the DT have created this week. Join in on the fun by linking your card to the Linkz here. If loading to SCS, please use the keyword: CCEE1506.

It is always fun to find a new challenge to do. This week thanks to Harriet Skelly, whom I follow on Pineterest, I saw this challenge for one layered cards called One Layered Simplicity Challenge. This week the challenge was to blend colors. I rubbed some various green inks from Momento on an embossing folder. Then I spritzed it with water and smashed my paper in the folder. I stamped black trees on to the card, and with a round sponge I put yellow and blended orange ink for the sun. To bring a little life to the trees, I stamped some tiny Rubber Tapestry leaves on the branches. The sentiment is from some retired Stampin' Up set.
