a few days ago when i posted the envelope to jan with the cat hanging on the clothesline, my brother left a comment that his two cats had issues with the cat hanging on the clothesline. so i told him to tell his cats to watch their mail box. i hope they are relieved to see that the clothespins have been removed and these cats are clearly enjoying themselves and exploring their creative sides.
it made me think of the guy on shark tank who got a deal with the sharks for his website called *i want to draw a cat for you.* i remember thinking - what a great idea. just let people pay you to do really bad drawings. why didn't i think of that. i suppose i could start a website called *i want draw a cat hanging on a clothesline for you*
i just checked and his website says he has drawn 19,214 cats.
he has a $10 cat x 19,214 = $192,140
a $30 cat x 19,214 = $576,420
so he's made between those two figures.
maybe i should just offer to draw anything for you, on an envelope and mail it.....
your thoughts?

p.s. i like my cats better. his have human faces - which i find a little disconcerting.
p.p.s

carolyn's notebook paper
there are tons of cute items on pinterest inspired by notebook paper. i have not seen this, but it would not surprise me if it is out there.
the address and zip code will both be flush left in the two open lines.
the colored lines were made with a dotta-riffic marker and i used a ruler, which meant i was willing to take time to clean the ruler after making the lines. not my usual lazy self. but, i did one freehand and it was wretched. so bad i am not even going to show you how bad. sometimes i just have to spare you things that you could not un-see.

ellen - really quick
nothing exciting about this one.
sometimes you just need to write a cute curly name and add a heart and mail it.
of course, the cutest stamp ever is nice touch.
this was a gel marker. they are always fun.

ellen - candy hearts
those candy hearts again. this time on the funny colored envelopes. i don't remember what they called this color. i bought a box of 100 of them at office max. they were fun to have as an alternative.
those fun hearts again...quick and easy.
i like the way the Ls line up
and the way the two names fit together.

ellen - mickey mouse
it doesn't seem like mickey would look ok done in black, but, i knew i couldn't color it in in black without it getting all muddy. so, i was surprised that this looked OK in gray....i'm also surprised disney agreed to let the p.o. put mickey on a stamp.

ellen - heart candy
such a cute stamp. love the combination of colors. i was lucky to have the right color markers. i don't think i could do much with this stamp without those two colors. i like the way the lettering is small and rounded, like the candy.

ellen - reindeer
there might be one similar to this in the archives. i loved these stamps and did a ton of envelopes the year they came out. the non-traditional green and addition of yellow and purple was really fun. and i like any stamp that has snowflakes shaped like asterisks.
i really like the way the ll in ellen pops up rather high. i also like the way the lestters are touching, but not always touching at the bottom.
