Tutorial Tuesday - MOO-ve Over ATCs!

Hi Paper Wings fans! Dana here today sharing a fun alternative to the artist trading card, the moo card. Moo cards originated as a fresh alternative to the traditional business card and were quickly adopted by artists as a fun was to share small pieces of art. The NEW Vintage Domino Melange and Vintage Melange Stamp Sets are the perfect size to dress up a moo card, which has a size requirement of 2.8 cm x 7 cm. The Vintage Melange Stamp Set is our new release for February, and is available from the Paper Wings Productions Store for 15% off all month long!

These lovely ladies are part of the Vintage Domino Melange Stamp Set. I framed them with the border stamp from the Vintage Melange Stamp Set. I embossed the images onto moo cards primed with gesso and stamped with the Circle Background Stamp. I colored the images with Gelatos. This is the second set I created, the first set is more dramatic.

I have a thing for vintage ladies and was thrilled to see the NEW Vintage Ladies Domino Cling Stamp Set! I created this set of moo cards in a couple simple steps.

I first cut pieces of patterned paper to size, 2.8 cm x 7 cm.

I then embossed the patterned paper with the beautiful fractal stamp from the Vintage Melange Cling Stamp Set using Lindy's Stamp Gang Jack-O-Lantern Embossing Powder.

I then added a subtle pattern to each card with the Circle Background Cling Stamp.

I stamped the vintage ladies onto a piece of vintage book paper using archival ink, cut them out and then sealed them to the moo cards using gel medium.

I embellished each card with Tim Holtz metal stickers and rub-ons that I had leftover from past Nesting Components Mixed Media Kits.

I finished each card with some acrylic paint for a fun pop of color.

I hope you'll try creating some moo cards! They're a lot of fun. If you want to challenge yourself and work in an ever smaller area, check out Cathi's Altered Dominoes. We would love to see what you make with these, or any, Paper Wings Productions Stamps, so add your projects to our Flickr Group or our Facebook page.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Spotlight Sunday

Hello Paper Wings fans!  Erica here today for Spotlight Sunday and today I want to put a huge spotlight on the Paper Wings Productions Shop!  But first I want to thank everyone who linked up to our February Challenge!  All of the projects we saw were beautiful and we loved seeing your creativity.  The randomly chosen winner of our Anything Goes February Challenge is number 21, Donna K.  Donna please email us at [email protected] and congrats on winning!
You all know we carry amazing stamps in our shop but did you know we also carry a variety of other products to satisfy your every creative need!  Plus we are adding new products to the shop all the time and we have a great selection of products on sale right now!  Today I am sharing a very lovely mini album I created with a variety of products from the Paper Wings Productions Shop.  I started with products from the February and January Nesting Components Kits.   The February kit has sold out and was a big hit but there are still a few items from this kit that are still available in the shop.   Here is a look at the cover of my mini album.  I started with a plain piece of chipboard and used a red acrylic paint dauber to add some color and once it was dry I added some Lindy's Sidekick Nantucket Pearls and then stamped some images from the Art Textures stamp set all over my pages.  I love this linen heart from the shop and I could not wait to use it!  I used the Text Melange stamp set and added the script words all over the heart.  The word LOVE comes from the stamp set Valentine Wishes that I stamped on some cardstock and then cut the letters out separately.

To bind my album I just used some ribbon from my stash but added a few charms as well to dangle from the ribbon and in the center of the word love you can see I used some glass glitter that you can also find in the shop.

The key was a plain chipboard key and I used the Encrusted Jewel Kit from the shop to heat emboss it and I love the look it gave the key.  The next two pages in my album use images from the Valentine Clip Art Sheet and beautiful Prima flowers that came in the February Nesting Components Kit.

I adhered the images so I can tuck photos and journaling tags behind them.  I also added a stamp from the Brave Girls stamp set and you can see more of the Art Textures images on these pages too.
For the last page I am sharing today I used a plain manilia tag and wrinkled it up in my hand to create lots of grooves and creases and then sprayed it with some Lindy's Sidekick Nantucket Pearls and then dried it with my heat tool.  Once it was dry I added some images from the Text Melange stamp set.  I wanted the tag to look very old and antique.  I also used some Hand Dyed Ribbon from the shop and stamped some script from the same stamp set onto the ribbon.  The chipboard circle frame is perfect to slip a small photo in and it is covered in beautiful glass glitter from the Paper Wings Productions Shop.

I hope you enjoyed my mini album and get an idea of the different products available in the shop.  There are new products that have arrived this weekend and over the next few months you will see even more new and exciting new products!  We have a big celebration planned for March so we hope you join us for that!  Make sure to follow our blog and on FACEBOOK to stay up to date on events, sales, and giveaways!  You never know when we are going to give back to our fans!  Thanks so much for stopping today and remember to let your creativity take flight!

Featured Friday- Mixed Media Mini Album

*****To join our February Challenge: Anything Goes, CLICK HERE*****

Hey guys! Katie here today for Feature Friday! Today I wanted to share with you a mixed media mini album I made using pictures from our most recent camping trip. I used the Pines Cling Stamp Set which work so perfectly for camping and outdoorsy photos.

I wanted to use lots of color and texture so there is a lot of mixed media going on. I went over a stencil with matte medium on all of my pages for texture than went over them with Gelatos and Silks acrylic Glaze. I also used some of the Lindy's Mists that came in the Creative Girl Nesting Components kit.
And of course, I did a lot of stamping with the Pines stamps.

Here is a peek at all of my pages:

There have been a lot of inspiring posts here on the blog lately. I hope you'll check some of them out!
