Olin Circle of Advocates (OCOA)
The Olin Circle of Advocates (OCOA) invites those passionate about driving Olin’s strategic priorities.
The new Olin Circle of Advocates (OCOA) will support issues of importance to Olin. These include (but are not limited to) expanding Olin’s influence, increasing awareness of Olin’s brand and reputation, fostering an environment of innovation and continuous improvement, and leveraging relationships with professional networks, prospective funders, and other constituencies as appropriate to advance the College’s goals. The OCOA is an influential body serving the College but has no formal decision-making powers.
The first charge to the OCOA will be to support Olin College as a Living Lab (CaLL).
The framework of CaLL positions Olin as an experimental testbed for reinvention and sustainability, and for transformation within and outside Olin. It is an engine for innovation and change that enables the institution itself to be constantly evolving to meet the changing needs and demands of engineering education and the world today. The subcommittees of the OCOA are aligned to the current CaLL initiatives and are focused on:
- Sustainability Changemakers
- The Next Wave of (Olin) Engineering Education
- Equity, Access, and Inclusion
Membership Commitment:
- Attend the whole-group meetings of the OCOA. Three annual whole-group meetings are anticipated, with at least one by Zoom, and at least one in-person at Olin College (travel at your own expense).
- Be an active participant in a subcommittee project in service to the College, including 1-2 hours of work per month, a monthly virtual 30-minute check-in meeting, and other possible activities held between the regular whole-group meetings.
