Davenport-Clijsters analysis
Lindsay Davenport produced some accurate serving to overcome Kim Clijsters in their fourth-round match.

Here Hawk-Eye commentator Jason Goodall explains how an impressive serve performance from the top seed made life difficult for Kim Clijsters.

Davenport served exceptionally well in the first set, landing 80% of her first serves in.

Clijsters was able to win only 42% of points on her first serve and 50% on her second in the first set, leading to three dropped service games.

Clijsters started to vary her serve direction in the second set. In the first set she directed only 27% of her serves wide to the deuce court but in the second set she used that tactic much more, forcing Davenport out wide.

Davenport was able to reassert herself again in the third set, landing 69% of first serves in compared to Clijsters' 44% and securing a convincing 6-3 6-7 (4-7) 6-3 win.
