Hullo Stranger!!

It is so long since I have been on here I have forgotten what to do. Besides these

2 and their siblings I have been taking a different approach this year. I joined an Embroidery lovers group and it has been a very informative and interesting group. We have done a swap, and I was given a charming lady in England who does the most fantastic work.
This is the lovely embroidery that I received from her. Just stunning. And who did not take photos of the lovely pink rose I sent her? This month we are doing ATC's which I am really looking forward to.
I do tell myself not to go to the Library because I find books that just need to be read. My favourite author at the moment is David Baldacci.. Thrillers and no inappropriate scenes or language.
I only have 1 boy doing schooling  at the moment and this is his final year.We started our Home schooling Journey 20 years ago.
Enough of this talk,I have blogs to look at,and books to read.
I still enjoy looking at my old forum buddies' blogs. Nice to see Trish,Ondrea and Karen keeping up their beautiful work.
Hugs .

A new Grandson.

January has come and gone. Hubby and 3rd son went to the Phillipines, still there actually. We were making preparations  for having the littlies when The baby decided to arrive . But the other nanny came down .Turned  out to be Good timing as HAMISH Duncan ( family name from way back) decided to come the 1 night it was going to be very difficult for me.
As far as sewing goes, so far ,a little at a time. I have joined an online Crazy Quilting course. It is very basic and the teacher is fantastic. As we go through each stage she personally talks to each one and offers words of wisdom.I think she has over 100 " students".
And my very favourite ( although closed down)Forum, now Facebook is doing a BOM.My hubby andI recently celebrated 37 years of marriage he was OS ,so we will have some thing nice when he gets back.
While he is away I am attending to some of those horrible cleaning jobs. Best get back to it!

Decluttering .

Not much sewing yet. I am the sort of person who cannot really concentrate on sewing while the housework is calling. Today the pantry got a good clean and repackaged.
Now to the cupboards(eek) and I should have done my spring clean.
I have committed to a new Crazy Quilting course. I am very much looking forward to that so, hopefully I will have photos up soon.
No grand baby yet . At least it is nice and cool.
Til next time.

2015

My New Year's resolution,or should I say my attempt at getting life back on an even keel is to try and rest ,relax and not stress. Hubby's words actually. I may or not have garden helpers this year . We are expecting a 4 th grandchild ,so may not be needed as much except to give my DIL a break, and satisfy my need as a Grandma.
I plan on joining the Canberra Quilters again and try and get some quality quilting time. I think I have used my new machine about 2 or 3 hours. At the moment I am going through a big de cluttering. We have a large house and I need to get things organised for my "twilight "years. My very favourite Craft forum  closed down but we keep in contact via Facebook. Not quite the same. I am not going to set myself any goals for sewing but I trying to commit to getting lots finished or passed onto someone else.
My father-in-law and my mum are both quite sick now so my time will be prioritised for them.
I hope that my blog will grow this year.
Bye for now

I needed to continue on but Blogger wouldn't let me .
I joined Canberra Quilters this year. I believe that if I commit to going weekly/fortnightly to a group  of like minded ladies it might help me with my resolve to get some quilts finished, blocks put together and all those hexis into something of value.
There are some very talented ladies in the group so I have no excuses. I just need to be able to get there.
I do have a bit of a distraction on Wednesdays.
I will hopefully have lots of finishes to show you soon.
Nearly the end of March and have already broken my resolution to post at least once a day.
No excuses. My DH and youngest son went to Tonga for 2 weeks and it was too hot here to do  anything much.
Feb. and March are always very busy months for our house hold. we have back to school, Uni. and work. then our Church has its missions Conference, so it is busy -house for visitors, cooking (always need that) and preparing our hearts.

This is how Grandma felt at the end of the week.
