The Snow Blues
Okay. I have a confession to make. I have been all over blogland the last two months drooling and moaning with envy over all the beautiful snowfall so many of you are getting this winter. Time and time again, while all I got was a pitiful 2 inches that melted away within a few hours.
You'll hear no more complaining from me. No more whining. No more moaning and groaning. This next winter snowstorm that is expected to hit from the Midwest all the way back to the East looks like a nightmare. I will happily stick with my good ole Pacific Northwest rain.
To all those in the path of the storm, you have my sympathies, stay safe, stay warm and cuddle up with a good cup of cocoa or hot tea if you can!
I also want to thank Sandi from Ess De'Ess Bears for gifting me with this most fabulous Stylish Blogger Award. It came with stipulations about passing it on and sharing unknown quirks about myself but quite frankly, I'm too lazy. And I'm on Auntie duty the next few days. Sorry Sandi! I do appreciate it and I promise to share something SOMEDAY soon!

Weekend Treats...
Anyone else head to the stores and do a little shopping this weekend? I'm guilty. I hit up the $1-$5 bins at Michaels. I love a good bargain. They are carrying this line called Treasures by Shabby Chic. I'm not sure if it's affiliated with Rachel Ashwell but I am LOVING it! I found this journal and pretty pens and a little fairy mirror compact to keep in my purse.
Then I found a notepad with my initial and some too cute note cards. These were all in the $1 bins. Does anyone else have a fascination with stationary items? I can remember as a little girl loving the aisles full of perfectly lined up papers, different colored pens and pencils and office supplies. I love pretty little notecards in this day and age of emailing and cell phones.
Now this purty little box is the reason for the trip in the first place. My sweet Cousin bought one last week and I knew I had to get one of my own. I haven't had a new recipe box since 9th grade foods class 20+ years ago.
Man I can't believe it's been that long. I'm getting old.
Back to the little box...my old one is an ugly gray plastic whose lid hasn't properly closed for years so this is a welcome addition.
I had to get some of these fun recipe cards to go with it. I have tons of recipes I've saved from bloggers I need to get written down. Most of them are desserts. The dessert section in my recipe box is the largest. Don't tell anyone.
Then there's THIS.
I have been wanting a new camera that's smaller I can carry in my purse and this baby fit the bill. I love Canon cameras. I have a larger camera that is a Nikon and after a year of use I'm not in love with it. It's entirely possible however the reason is the camera operator, maybe I'm just not using it right. It takes horrible indoor pictures. I'm hoping the new camera is better.
So yeah, I was a bit of a bad girl this weekend and I can't say next weekend will be any better. There's a shopping trip in the works with the ladies of Jazz and my big Sister.
Could spell T.R.O.U.B.L.E.
I plan to do most of my shopping for the Jazz booth though. It helps when you aren't spending your own money. You get the fun of shopping without the dent in your wallet.
Hope you all had a marvelous weekend and are ready for the week ahead!

Downton Abbey
Is anyone else watching Downtown Abbey on Masterpiece Theater?
I LOVE this kind of show. A great period drama I can sink into. It begins in 1912 and follows a family and the servants who live amongst them. Downtown Abbey actually began several weeks ago but you can watch previous episodes HERE. The last episode airs this Sunday on PBS but if you hurry and watch the three previous episodes online, you can catch up! You can also find more about the mini-series and all of the characters HERE.
I hope you'll watch and enjoy it as much as I am!

Shaking Things Up...
I went to Painted Lady Vintage last week so I could work in our booth and move things around. I needed to make room for that recently made over trunk and chair! Not to mention the fact I just felt like rearranging.
These plates went in with me last week and they have already sold. Now I have to find something else to stuff in the crate. It shouldn't be a problem since we have so many smaller items.
Which was a BIG problem when you are trying to move around everything in a small space. I had to keep tucking things in corners and under benches in another aisle across from our space. It was the owners space so it wasn't a problem and it was also the slowest day of the week which was a big help. If it had been a busy Saturday I wouldn't have attempted it.
Once I got all the furniture placed and started to stage, the fun of trying to fit everything back in began. Every time I turned around I had another pile sitting there staring at me. Man. Stuff stuff everywhere. I did manage to fit it all in. It helped when I boxed up all the leftover Christmas things that didn't sell.
The antique oval frame was a newly added item and sold already. For less than I should have sold it for. That was a lesson learned. Just because someone makes a lower offer does NOT mean you have to take it. Especially when you know it's worth more and it's only been in the store for a day!
There's that chair!
I also brought back our vintage chalkboard door we had when we first opened "All That Jazz".
It wasn't for sale then, but I painted it a light aqua and it's now up for grabs!
Waaaaay back when "Jazz" began. We are coming up on our 1 year anniversary in March!
A few splashes of red were added to coincide with Valentine's Day coming up.
Next up~decorating for SPRING!
I better get my wheels a turning.

Put A Little Giddy~Up In Your Wardrobe
I thought I'd share with you a little cowgirl couture from Ralph Lauren's Spring 2011 line.
I am loving the belt and the scarf. Unfortunately I'm too short to wear the coat. Drat.
Oh well, it's not like it's in the budget anyway.
There's not a lot of cowgirl here, but I love this look anyway. The top is gorgeous.
You could throw on a pair of boots real quick and you'd be an instant cowgirl.
Very CHIC!
Sweet and fresh. Needs that pair of boots again! And that belt.
Love this lace blouse also and there's that belt again! Flashy skirt too!
S.E.X.Y. Cowgirl!
This is just about my favorite look. This skirt is to die for!
Very sophisticated with more than a dash of cowgirl cool.
Did you find a look you liked? I would take one of each if I could!

Birthday Boy
A certain "COWPOKE" turned 4 this weekend!
It's amazing how time flies when they're little...
how fast they grow and how much they learn.
Happy Birthday my sweet Man Cub!
Your Auntie LUUUVES you!
*not that he reads his Auntie's publications yet!

Makeover Madness...
I spent the weekend gathering supplies to help makeover this beautiful trunk.
Hee Hee Hee!
I bought this last Summer at a garage sale. I had plans to make it over, but first took it to
the booth last Fall to see if anyone was interested before I put some elbow grease into it.
the booth last Fall to see if anyone was interested before I put some elbow grease into it.
They weren't.
Can't say as I blame them. It IS ugly. It did work for my "Junk In The Trunk"
sale though, before I brought it home to redo before Christmas.
It's almost done. I'll show you the finished product soon, I need to do some stenciling still.
This is my second makeover in progress. I saw this at Goodwill and wanted it, but passed.
I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the cushion off to recover it.
I thought about it all night and went back the next day to see if it was still there and thank
goodness it was. It's going to get a paint job and a new cushion cover.
The paint and fabric have been purchased, let's just say it's going in the "French" direction.
Foo Foo just had to check things out and sniff around a bit.
Make sure it was on the up and up.
Then today Mom and I worked at the shop where we have our booth. It's fun for a
change and gives me a chance to tinker in our booth and see what other vendors are doing.
Hope you all have a good weekend! Snow may be in the forcast for us here this week.
I can't wait!
